Aaron Jones Memorial

With the passing of Aaron Jones on Monday, September 22, 2014 the MCTF and the McKenzie River community lost a true friend.  Mr. Jones donated the land and much of the funds needed to develop that land into a world class track and field facility near the McKenzie Schools in Blue River. The first track meet was held in 2010 at this magnificent setting, the Aaron and Marie Jones Community Field along the McKenzie River.  Since then hundreds of student athletes from the coast to the cascades and central Oregon have competed at the track, taking advantage of the excellent facilities at this amazing venue, made possible in large part due to Mr. Jones’ generosity.

In 2013, Marie Jones made a very generous contribution allowing the construction of the field house at the track.  The AMJ Building was dedicated to her husband Aaron, in the spring of 2014.  The building enhances the facilities, expanding opportunities and benefits to the community.

The McKenzie Community Track and Field Board of Directors wish to extend our deepest sympathy to the Jones family. We all feel the loss of this wonderful man.

Donations made to the track, at the request of his family, will be used to help keep Aaron Jones’ legacy alive.
